7 PHRASAL VERB cho kỳ thi IELTS


Hôm nay,mình tiếp tục chia sẻ với các bạn các phrasal verbs thường xuyên xuất hiện trong các bài thi IELTS speaking, đây là những phrasal verbs rất quan trọng vì vậy các bạn phải ghi nhớ chúng thật kỹ đó nha.

1.“Measure up” means “to be good enough or to be of the required standard”.
Example: He didn’t measure up so I couldn’t hire him.

2.“Look after” means “to take care of someone or something”.
Example: I had to look after the neighbours’ dog while they were away.

3. “Kick back” means “to relax”.
Example: After a hard day’s work, I like to kick back and watch TV.

4. “Make up for” means “to compensate for something bad with something good”.
Example: He bought her some flowers and a cake to make up for being late.

5. “Max out” means “to reach the maximum limit of something, or to use up all of something”.
Example: My wife is a shopaholic. She’s already maxed out six credit cards this year, and now she wants another one!

6. “Make up” means “to become friendly with someone again after an argument”.
Example: Joe and Frank often argue, but they soon say sorry and make up with each other

7. “Kid around” means “to have fun by acting in a silly way”.
Example: Our teacher told us to stop kidding around and get down to work.
